With a mission to develop life-saving medicines for serious diseases, they sought a strategic workforce partner to support their New Jersey-based manufacturing facility through a Vendor on Premise (VOP) model.

In December 2019, the company engaged SPECTRAFORCE through a competitive Request for Proposal process, requiring an industry-savvy partner to lead talent acquisition, screening, and workforce management. Due to the success of the partnership, SPECTRAFORCE was awarded a second VOP site in Devens, MA, in 2022.

The client faced several challenges in scaling their workforce to meet production demands: 

  • Project Delays: Timeline shifts impacted the original selection date. 
  • COVID-19 Pandemic: A temporary site shutdown resulted in a four-month delay in project execution.
  • High-Volume Hiring Needs: Despite setbacks, the company required a significant number of skilled workers within a compressed timeframe to meet critical milestones.

SPECTRAFORCE implemented a structured and agile workforce strategy to address these challenges and deliver tailored results critical to client success.

1. Strategic Planning: 

SPECTRAFORCE developed a RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) chart to clearly define roles and responsibilities, collaborating with the client to structure hiring waves and align workforce planning with production schedules.

2. Dedicated Delivery Team: 

A VOP manager was rapidly deployed on-site, supported by an offsite team to ensure smooth and efficient execution of hiring and onboarding processes. 

3. Proactive Recruitment: 

SPECTRAFORCE maintained close coordination with client stakeholders to oversee every aspect of talent acquisition, focusing on quality placements tailored to the client’s specifications. 

4. Flexible & Scalable Approach: 

The hiring team adapted strategies in response to COVID-19-related delays and shifting workforce requirements, ensuring agility and continuity of operations.

SPECTRAFORCE achieved outstanding results despite unforeseen challenges, showcasing commitment and expertise in workforce solutions. Key accomplishments include: 

  • 1,936 hires across both sites since 2020. 
  • 1,400+ workers recruited and onboarded by July 2023.
