Job Title: Electronic Technician I
Duration: 6 months | possible extension or conversion-based business needs and performance
Location: Allen, TX
Worksite: 100% Onsite | First Shift | Monday – Friday | 6:00/7:00 AM - 2:30/3:30 PM

Position Summary
We are seeking an Electronic Technician I to support repair operations within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing and service environment. This role is responsible for diagnosing, testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing digital video recording systems, electronic assemblies, and related peripherals.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electronics and possess the ability to troubleshoot equipment to the assembly and sub-assembly level. This position is well suited for recent technical school graduates, entry-level technicians, or candidates with up to 3 years of electronics troubleshooting experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, test, and troubleshoot electronic products and systems.
  • Perform fault isolation and identify root causes of equipment failures.
  • Analyze electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies using established diagnostic procedures.
  • Utilize schematics, engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Operate industry-standard diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Perform functional testing and verification of repaired products.
  • Document findings and communicate technical issues to engineering and operations teams.
  • Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures and quality standards.
  • Meet production and quality targets while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational goals.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Associate Degree, Technical Degree, Trade School Certification, Military Electronics Training, or equivalent hands-on electronics experience preferred.
  • Recent technical school graduates are encouraged to apply.
Experience
  • 0-3 years of electronics troubleshooting, repair, manufacturing, testing, or diagnostic experience.
  • Experience as an Electronics Technician, Repair Technician, Test Technician, Bench Technician, Service Technician, or similar role preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Basic understanding of analog and digital electronics.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of electronic components including:
    • Printed Circuit Boards (PCBAs)
    • Microcontrollers
    • Memory devices
    • Programmable logic devices (FPGAs)
    • Low-voltage electronic circuits
  • Experience using:
    • Digital Volt Meters (DVMs)
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Electronic test equipment
  • Basic computer proficiency required.

Computer Skills
Candidates must be comfortable using:
  • Computers and web-based applications
  • Google Workspace
  • Google Sheets
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Basic networking concepts such as IP addresses and MAC addresses
Oracle experience is a plus but not required.

Preferred Candidate Profile
Seeking candidates who:
  • Have worked as a repair or return technician in the electronics industry.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Can identify not only that a component has failed, but understand why it failed.
  • Have experience working in electronics manufacturing, repair, testing, or depot environments.
  • Learn quickly and can work independently after training.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Are interested in long-term career opportunities and potential conversion to full-time employment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 5-10 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a production environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.

Training
  • Approximately 2 weeks of training before working independently.
