Job Description

Role: Technical Business Analyst
Duration: 6 months
Location: Chicago, IL - Hybrid - onsite 3 days per week
 
Project Overview / Contractor's Role:
We are looking for an experienced and versatile business analyst to help us build and scale our Insurance Accounting System. In this role, your duties will include writing appropriate documentation for developers and testers to create new features and enhance existing ones. You may also be required to create documentation for various functions in the application.
 
To ensure success as a technical business analyst, you should demonstrate experience and creativity in system development and application design. Outstanding business analysts combine their IT expertise with in-depth financial business knowledge.
 
Qualifications (must haves):
  • A College or University degree and relevant proven work experience.
  • Extensive experience in technical business analysis in the fintech industry.
  • Significant experience leading software development teams in the development of software applications.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to design and maintain technical documentation.
  • Significant experience working with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
  • Exceptional communication skills toward facilitating the use of new software systems.
 
Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Managing the software development pipeline from feature prioritization to coordinating deployment to production.
  • Responsible for writing detailed Acceptance Criteria and building a library of use cases.
  • Backlog refinement and prioritization utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps in collaboration with business sponsors, product solutions, development teams and project managers that align to client and business objectives.
  • Manage reprioritization and negotiations between stakeholders as needed. Collaborate with Product Owners when sequencing requirements are cross-workstreams.
  • Collaborate with project management to keep them informed on software development as it relates to critical projects to ensure the delivery plans are executed against agreed milestones.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with others and high emotional intelligence to build productive and strategic relationships.
  • Understand the business functions, clients and products to think strategically, effectively lead the team through change and solution issues.
