Title: Tactical Buyer II
Duration: 6 Months Assignment
Location: Kent, Washington OR Florida (Merrit Island,  or Melbourne) 

Position Overview:

The Tactical Buyer will support procurement operations for government contracts, executing strategic sourcing activities and managing supplier relationships to ensure on-time delivery of materials, components, and services. This role requires a strong blend of procurement expertise and manufacturing knowledge to effectively support program requirements while ensuring compliance with government regulations and company policies.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute tactical procurement activities for government contract programs, ensuring compliance with FAR/DFARS and other applicable regulations
  • Manage purchase order lifecycle from requisition through receipt, including expediting, resolving discrepancies, and supplier performance management
  • Leverage manufacturing background to effectively communicate technical requirements with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers while maintaining cost, quality, and schedule targets
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams to support production schedules
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support audit requirements for government contracts
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while developing contingency plans
Required Background:
  • Previous experience in tactical buying/procurement
  • Manufacturing or production environment experience
  • Government contracts procurement experience (FAR/DFARS familiarity)
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of experience, Master's degree with 1+ years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related degree
  • Interprets and applies company, policies, procedures, work instructions, business standards and U.S. government regulations, i.e., FAR, DFAR, SOX Compliance
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the supply chain department.
  • Ability to write price reasonableness determinations / price analyses of all types per FAR requirements
  • Experience supporting negotiations of all types, including, but not limited to, pricing, terms and conditions, FAR / customer contract flowdowns, and schedule
  • Working understanding of AS9100 standards
  • Knowledge of Engineering Data such as specifications, drawings, & statements of work
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
  • Experience in procurement of avionics, machined parts, raw materials
  • Experience working in Costpoint, Exostar, Windchill, SharePoint, JIRA, Tableau
  • Experience working with Certified Cost or Pricing Data
