Safety Specialist

Title: Safety Specialist
Location: Lebanon, TN
Duration: 6 Months
Training Schedule:

• Week 1: AEW, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weeks 2–3: Donut Shift, 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM
• Week 4: BHN schedule for transition to shift

Shift Schedule:

• Back Half Nights (BHN): Wednesday–Saturday, 6:30 PM – 5:30 AM
• OT available for coverage gaps (pending finance approval)

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits and inspections.
• Identify compliance issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety documentation and compliance records.
• Enter and manage data in internal systems.
• Train and coach managers and associates on safety procedures.
• Support OSHA compliance, workers' compensation, and emergency response activities.
• Participate in process improvement and safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in EHS, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly 29 CFR 1910.
• Professional experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or related field.
• Experience in workplace safety, workers' compensation, and incident management.
• Emergency response training/certifications.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, healthcare, or logistics environments.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience conducting job hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Passion for workplace safety and continuous improvement.
