Position Title: Repair Services Associate I
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL (Onsite)
Duration: 9 months
Shift: 1st Shift – 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
Pay Rate: $17.50/hour
Position Summary
The Printer Repair Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a variety of printer products, including mobile/handheld devices and large-format printers. This role performs basic repair activities while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards. The technician will follow established procedures, document repair activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs on a wide range of printers, including mobile/handheld devices and large-format printers.
- Review customer complaints and troubleshoot product issues.
- Perform mechanical repairs, inspections, cleaning, testing, and final quality inspections.
- Conduct basic hand soldering tasks as required.
- Complete service tasks while meeting established productivity and quality standards.
- Resolve basic technical issues of limited complexity under direct supervision.
- Perform simple analysis involving limited variables.
Documentation & Process Compliance
- Accurately document all repair activities, including:
- Symptoms identified
- Symptom codes
- Reasons for parts replacement
- Work performed
- Follow established work instructions, procedures, and assigned functional tasks.
- Maintain accurate records to support repair quality and process tracking.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support process standardization efforts.
- Assist with updating documentation and work instructions as needed.
Safety & Workplace Compliance
- Follow all safety practices, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
- Comply with all applicable policies, warehouse safety guidelines, procedures, and operational requirements.
- Maintain a professional and organized work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to follow written instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly and support problem-solving efforts.
- Understanding and application of company policies and procedures in routine tasks.
- Strong attendance record and positive attitude.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements as required.
- Ability to safely perform tasks in a warehouse/repair environment.
Work Environment
- Work performed in a repair and warehouse environment requiring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
