Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector
Location: Westbury, NY 11590
Duration: 12 Months ( Contract to Hire)
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr
Schedule: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance Inspector will support daily manufacturing operations by ensuring electronic assemblies and finished products meet established quality standards and customer requirements. The role will identify defects, document inspection findings, verify rework and repairs, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of electronic assemblies, including SMT and through-hole components.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with sales orders, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect PCB assemblies using microscopes, magnification tools, and measurement devices.
  • Evaluate solder joints, component placement, polarity, labeling, and workmanship according to IPC-A-610 Class 2/3 criteria.
  • Review work orders, assembly drawings, BOMs, schematics, and specifications to verify product compliance.
  • Document inspection results accurately using quality control systems and company documentation.
  • Verify that rework and repairs are completed according to IPC-A-610 and applicable quality standards.
  • Support incoming inspection of electronic components as required.
  • Identify defects and communicate quality issues to production and quality teams.
  • Support manufacturing process improvements by helping identify waste, defects, and process changes.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow ESD procedures, safety requirements, and established quality processes.
  • Perform other quality inspection and production support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of experience in electronics assembly, quality inspection, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • IPC-A-610 Certification preferred/required.
  • Strong understanding of SMT, through-hole, and mixed-technology assembly processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with ESD procedures and safe handling of electronic components.
  • Experience documenting inspection findings and using quality control software or systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems is preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience in aerospace, defense, medical, industrial electronics, or similar environments is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other productivity applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects accurately.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with production and quality assurance teams.
