Position Summary:
- The Test Tech will support the testing of manufactured CDU units in the Roscoe facility.
- This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who takes responsibility, is a team player, and wants to contribute to the future of scalable cooling solutions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to create a safe working environment.
- Adhering to safety regulations and procedures is vital, especially when working with low voltage electricity. This includes using appropriate PPE, understanding lockout/tagout procedures, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Actively participate in safety training sessions and promptly report any safety concerns or hazards.
- Comply with industry regulations and company policies to ensure proper handling of electro-mechanical components and systems.
Testing:
- Applying low & high voltage power to the CDU to perform various tests like voltage, current, insulation resistance, and continuity tests.
- Prepare and configure testing equipment, and ensuring proper connections to the device under test.
- Test system functionality.
- Read and comprehend testing procedures, manuals, and diagrams.
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals on technical tasks.
- Good eye-hand coordination to construct small parts and pieces into a final product.
- The ability to use various hand tools to produce a final product.
- Ability to follow instructions and diagrams as delivered for each product.
- Perform a series of tests on products to ensure they meet quality standards
- Send back products that do not meet standards.
- Document all tests performed.
- Identify testing processes that need improvement and recommend changes.
- Conduct tests involving fluids, and pressure to ensure product reliability and support operational processes.
- Record data and information accurately in a database.
- Report damaged materials and rejected units to the appropriate department or supervisor.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct quality inspections on components and assembled products to verify compliance with specified standards.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop visual work instructions and ensure consistent quality across all processes.
- Participate in Kaizen activities and support Lean Manufacturing principles, focusing on continuous improvement in quality.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed production logs and complete required documentation for traceability.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments regarding progress, challenges, and improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in training sessions and skill development programs to stay updated on best practices.
- Actively participate in 5S+ initiatives to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to eliminate waste, enhance safety, and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Assist in identifying and resolving testing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance such as cleaning of electrical/electronic equipment, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Material Handling:
- Retrieve and manage parts, tools, and materials required for the testing process.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of inventory to prevent mix-ups or damage.
- Operate material handling equipment such as Pallet Jacks and Carts to move parts and assemblies efficiently within the production area.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma required.
- Prior experience with hand tools or testing equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Basic math and measurement skills (e.g., fractions, decimals, imperial, and metric).
- Requires physical mobility and strength to lift up to 44 lbs. occasionally, 22 lbs. frequently.
Skills:
- Good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Strong knowledge of interpreting engineering documents (procedures, drawings, specifications, etc.)
- knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Experience in product verification and test automation a plus
