Duration : 12 months (Contract to hire)
Shift: 1st shift, 6:00am-4:00pm, (Mon-Thur)
Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.-$20.00/hr. (based on experience)
Job Overview
The Preventative Maintenance (Screw) is responsible for keeping ACME and Davenport machines and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and production-ready. This role supports operators by handling materials, removing chips and scrap, replenishing supplies, and assisting with routine machine cleaning to help ensure safe and efficient production. ---
A Day in the Life
As a Preventative Maintenance (Screw), your daily responsibilities will include:
Clean ACME and Davenport machines, workstations, and surrounding production areas.
Remove chips, scrap, oil buildup, and debris from machines and work areas.
Move raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-process throughout the Screw Department.
Load and stage materials for machine operators as needed.
Replenish tooling, fluids, and production supplies.
Assist with machine cleanouts and changeovers.
Empty chip hoppers and scrap containers following safety guidelines.
Complete cleaning and housekeeping checklists.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Report machine concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role?
Experience & Skills
Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Experience working around ACME or Davenport screw machines is a plus.
Ability to safely use pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to work independently and support multiple operators.
Education
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and material-handling tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to work safely around production equipment and wear required PPE.
