Job Type: 12-month Contract (Potential for Long-Term Opportunity)
Shift: 3rd Shift – Monday through Saturday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Base Pay: $21.05/hour
Shift Differential: $4.50/hour (3rd Shift)
- Straight Time (ST): +$4.50/hour
- Overtime (OT): +$6.75/hour
- Double Time (DT): +$4.50/hour
Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 after 90 days (based on performance and attendance)
Position Summary
The Plating Technician I is responsible for operating equipment used in metal finishing and plating processes. This role involves preparing, processing, inspecting, and finishing metal components while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow standardized production procedures in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment used in metal finishing and plating operations.
- Load and unload tote pans, baskets, racks, and barrels with parts for processing.
- Perform metal finishing processes including:
- Cleaning
- Etching
- Desmutting
- Pickling
- Bright dipping
- Dyeing
- Degreasing
- Heat treating
- Plating
- Coating
- Wet processing
- Drying
- Safely operate electric hoists and perform manual material handling.
- Follow prescribed manufacturing and plating procedures.
- Lower and remove materials from chemical processing tanks.
- Monitor solution temperatures throughout production.
- Maintain cleanliness of tanks, equipment, and work areas.
- Complete daily production logs and required documentation.
- Inspect processed parts to ensure quality standards are met.
- Assist with:
- Material handling
- Chemical handling
- Solution maintenance
- General utility work
- Record keeping
- Troubleshoot simple to moderately complex production issues.
- Maintain responsibility for product quality and workplace safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
- Manufacturing or production experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and procedures.
- Basic math skills, including:
- Addition
- Subtraction
- Multiplication
- Division
- Percentages
- Decimals
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Basic understanding of chemistry as it relates to metal finishing processes.
