Shift: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–1:30 PM, Weekends and holidays may be required
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist III to work in a hospital setting. The selected candidate will be responsible for traveling throughout the hospital to patient rooms and performing blood collections. This role will primarily support an adult to geriatric patient population and requires the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and blood specimen collection from adult and geriatric patients.
- Travel throughout the hospital to patient rooms to collect specimens.
- Properly identify patients and ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
- Follow established phlebotomy, safety, infection-control, and specimen-handling procedures.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional, compassionate approach with patients.
- Comfortably walk throughout the hospital for extended periods while completing assigned collections.
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency while working in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Follow all applicable hospital and laboratory policies and procedures.
- Support weekend and holiday coverage as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active Washington State Phlebotomy License.
- Previous phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
- Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
- Ability to work with adult and geriatric patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Comfortable walking throughout a hospital and traveling between patient rooms.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Skills
- Hospital-based phlebotomy experience.
- Experience working with diverse adult and geriatric patient populations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and specimen identification accuracy.
- Ability to remain organized and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
Compliance Requirements
- Color vision is required.
- Hepatitis B and Flu vaccination may be completed or declined by signing a declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
- Negative THC screening is not required.
- MMR, T-DAP, and Varicella requirements are not specified.
