Position Title: Phlebotomist III
Work Location: Atlanta, GA 30308
Assignment Duration: 3 months
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Required: 5+ years of experience in Phlebotomy
Position Summary:
The primary function of the Phlebotomist III is to perform specimen collection, processing, and patient service activities in a fast-paced clinical environment while ensuring accuracy, quality, and excellent customer service. This role requires strong venipuncture skills, specimen handling knowledge, and the ability to work independently within a physician office or patient service center setting.
Position Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection on patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Complete 40–50 blood draws daily while maintaining patient comfort and professionalism.

Demonstrate proficiency using straight needles and butterfly needles.

Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and packaging for transport.

Ensure specimens are collected, stored, and transported according to established laboratory procedures and temperature requirements.

Verify patient information, physician orders, and specimen labeling accuracy to ensure specimen integrity.

Maintain accurate patient documentation and update patient information in internal systems.

Provide excellent customer service while clearly explaining specimen collection procedures to patients.

Follow OSHA, infection control, and safety guidelines at all times.

Perform daily maintenance, decontamination, and quality control procedures as required.

Support workflow efficiency and communicate effectively with site coordinators and clinical staff.

Attend required departmental trainings and comply with all regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum 5+ years of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory, clinic, or hospital setting.

Strong experience performing venipuncture on pediatric and geriatric patients.

Experience processing specimens and handling laboratory documentation.

Ability to work independently in a patient service center or physician office environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and laboratory systems preferred.

Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
Additional Details:

Work environment: Kauffman Clinic / Patient Service Center
-
Candidate will work independently within the clinic with support from the site coordinator.

Initial training will be conducted for 1–2 weeks at the Johnson Ferry location.

TB test required prior to start.

Potential for assignment extension or conversion based on performance and business needs.
