Location: 9330 East 41st Street, Tulsa, OK
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 AM–12:30 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist II to join our team in Tulsa, OK. This position involves traveling to nursing homes throughout the Tulsa area using a company-provided vehicle to perform blood draws on patients. After completing the mobile collections, the phlebotomist will return to the home location to process specimens.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to nursing homes throughout the Tulsa area using a company vehicle.
- Perform blood draws and specimen collection from patients at nursing home facilities.
- Work with primarily geriatric patients, including patients with difficult or hard-to-find veins.
- Ensure proper patient identification and specimen collection procedures.
- Handle and process specimens accurately upon returning to the home location.
- Maintain specimen integrity and follow established laboratory procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service and compassionate patient care.
- Follow all laboratory safety, infection-control, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain the company vehicle and follow applicable driving and safety policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Phlebotomy experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Strong venipuncture skills.
- Ability to work independently while traveling between multiple nursing home locations.
- Strong patient-care and customer-service skills.
- Ability to perform specimen processing.
- Ability to work with geriatric patients and hard-stick patients.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Skills
- Experience drawing blood from geriatric patients.
- Experience with hard-stick patients.
- Strong specimen processing experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple collection locations during the workday.
Work Environment
- Home base: 9330 East 41st Street, Tulsa, OK
- Travel throughout the Tulsa area to nursing home facilities.
- Company vehicle provided for work-related travel.
- Patient-facing role with a focus on mobile blood collection.
- Candidate will return to the home location for specimen processing.
Compliance Requirements
- Flu vaccination is required.
- Hepatitis B: Required/RTB as applicable.
- Color vision screening is required.
- Negative THC screen: Not required.
