Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist I to join a client office in Kannapolis, NC. This role involves patient registration, specimen collection, specimen processing, and delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, performing venipuncture on geriatric and hard-stick patients, and traveling to nearby locations as needed for coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections using straight and butterfly needles.
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing.
- Perform up to 30-40 blood draws per day while ensuring patient comfort and specimen integrity.
- Register patients and accurately enter patient demographics into the system.
- Label, process, package, and prepare specimens according to laboratory procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with laboratory quality and safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with patients and healthcare staff.
- Work independently in a client office setting.
- Travel to surrounding locations when additional coverage is needed.
- Follow all laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Completion of a Phlebotomy training program or equivalent education.
- Current Phlebotomy Certification required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience performing venipuncture independently using straight and butterfly needles.
- Comfortable performing blood draws on geriatric and hard-stick patients.
- Strong specimen collection, processing, and patient registration skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a client office environment.
