Title: Operator Packaging 1
Location: Saint-Laurent, QC
Duration: 11+ Months
Work Schedule: Candidates must be available to work any of the shifts, understanding that the shifts can change regularly.

Job Summary:

In accordance with established policies, guidelines, procedures, packaging instructions, and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), health, safety, and environmental prevention measures, and business procedures/processes, the main tasks of the packaging operator are:
  • Carrying out all preparation and packaging tasks for pharmaceutical products, cleaning and assembling equipment, cleaning rooms and work areas, performing required inspections and controls for pharmaceutical product packaging.
  • Ensuring the quality of packaged products.
Job Responsibilities:
The following tasks are performed in compliance with site policies, guidelines, procedures, manufacturing instructions, GMP, health, safety, and environmental protection measures, and business procedures/processes at the Montreal Site.
  1. Cleaning (various types) of certain equipment parts, rooms, and surfaces (floors, walls, sinks, etc.).
  2. Disassembling, cleaning, and assembling equipment on different packaging lines according to procedures and GMP.
  3. Clearing packaging lines or sections of lines.
  4. Following GMP procedures and HSE standards.
  5. Troubleshooting equipment during operation.
  6. Understanding bottleneck concepts and prioritizing interventions to keep the line running.
  7. Checking the condition and cleanliness of parts/equipment and the quality of products.
  8. Starting up certain equipment.
  9. Proper documentation (packaging sheets, logs, cleaning labels, etc.) according to GMP rules, verifying documentation, and following packaging instructions.
  10. Handling loads.
  11. Waste management (trash and/or pharmaceutical rejects).
  12. Participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
  13. Checking components.
  14. Performing sanitation tasks.
  15. Supplying various hoppers.
  16. Manual palletizing.
  17. Computer transactions.
  18. Training colleagues.
  19. May be asked to participate in team committees if required (e.g., HSE, continuous improvement, MO Committee, special projects, etc.).
  20. Performing CIL tasks.
  21. Participating in shift handovers and shift launches.
  22. Operating certain non-complex equipment (e.g., slat/cavity filler, manual boxing).
  23. Preparing parts for subsequent batches.
  24. May be asked to perform training follow-up tasks (updating procedures, etc.).
  25. Moving component pallets between the warehouse and production lines.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of GMP (an asset)
  • 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or related field (an asset)
  • Mechanical aptitude (an asset) and computer skills
