Position Title: Operator 1
Work Location: Belvidere, NJ, 07823
Assignment Duration: 3 Months
Work Schedule: 10-hour day shift M-Th 7am-5pm
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary:
Operates storage, blending, milling, and packaging equipment to prepare and transfer materials to production through to finished goods inventory. Performs a variety of material handling equipment necessary for the safe and efficient movement of raw/in-process materials and finished goods.
Background & Context:
Role supports manufacturing operations for The Organization by handling materials and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operates storage, blending, milling, and packaging equipment to prepare and transfer materials to production through to finished goods inventory. Performs a variety of material handling equipment necessary for the safe and efficient movement of raw/in-process materials and finished goods.
• With the assistance of a Production Operator able to operate and monitor equipment and processes to produce quality chemical intermediates and finished products to a pre-determined operations plan. Identifies equipment/process problems/ improvement opportunities and communicates findings as appropriate. Makes necessary adjustments to react to process changes or to optimize process performance.
• Obtains and inspects finished/in-process product and performs sampling and testing as required.
• Complies with GMP, IHQ-7 and ISO regulations and procedures for packaging, handling, and storage of incoming, in-process and finished goods, including that which is quarantined, released and expired merchandise.
• Subdivides and delivers batch ingredients utilizing good manufacturing and safety procedures based on production requirements. Receives and stores raw material as per SOP, loads/unloads trucks in an efficient manner that minimizes material damage. Updates receiving and disbursement records as appropriate.
• Responsible for knowledge and compliance with The Organization Safety Standards relating to the following: Manual material handling, material handling equipment, proper use of personal protective equipment, location and proper use of safety apparatus, knowledge of hazardous materials, emergency response procedures. Recognizes and corrects unsafe practices and unsafe equipment related to the job and area(s) of operation.
• Maintains clean and safe working conditions.
• Identifies equipment malfunctions and promptly requests work orders to be issued to return unit to service.
• Handles full range of packaging requirements including drummed, bagged, or boxed product or materials.
• Completes appropriate forms and documents necessary for proper material accountability and inventory control.
• Maintains housekeeping standards and orderliness of work area.
• Participates in shift handover, Tier 1, and department meetings.
• Always displays and promotes positive safety behaviors, uses proper personal equipment, appropriate safety tools, equipment and procedures that ensure self and others go home safe each day; ensures that area and equipment operate at the highest safety levels; ensures that all people in the area (maintenance, quality, visitors, contractors, etc.) comply with safety directives and keep area neat and clean.

• Follows site/department attendance and behavior policies.
• Ensure all SHE / Quality / and Operations related training is current and up to date.
• Involvement in setting up & reviewing SHE requirements, procedures, and instructions by participating in SHE culture on site.
• Acts in such a way that safety awareness & accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks.
• Shows leadership by working to SHE standards and encouraging employees to work to the same standards.
• Supports plant and corporate initiatives as outlined in the manufacturing plan. Follows the Manufex work processes.
• Prepares final product labels and maintains label control.
• Assists with generating and maintaining SOPs, following change control procedures and validation processes as requested.
• Performs general housekeeping/maintenance of process areas (e.g., painting, cleaning, etc.).
• Provides input to Department Management Staff to assist with nonconformance investigations and prepares associated documentation.
• Attends formal training classes (e.g., safety, quality improvement, problem solving, MSDS, etc.). Completes all required computer-based training modules.
Qualification & Experience:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Able to lift 40lbs – and work standing on feet/twisting /reaching for duration of the shift
• Able to work independently as well as on small teams
• Ability to comply with GDP/cGMP and understanding of Quality control practices.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands (If Applicable):
Role requires lifting up to 40lbs, prolonged standing, twisting, and reaching throughout the 10-hour shift. Onsite manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals and machinery.
