Title: Medical Science Liaison
Location: Remote/Hybrid Remote/Hybrid (Occasional presence at Head Office in Montreal)
Duration: 6 Months
Territory Covered: Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Provinces
Job Summary:
- The Hybrid Medical Science Liaison/Medical Manager is responsible for leading high-quality scientific exchange on Client's vaccines and in-line and late-stage portfolio assets with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) who hold local, regional, and national roles in healthcare delivery and decision making.
- This includes engagement with vaccine decision makers across Medical Groups, Integrated Delivery Networks, Payers, Professional Societies, and Departments of Health.
- In addition, the role contributes to the leadership and execution of National Head Office Medical Affairs initiatives, including the development and delivery of medical education programs, investigator-initiated research (IIR), health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), publications, advisory boards, and pipeline launch planning.
- The role also supports ad hoc internal medical projects and scientific presentations in alignment with Medical Affairs' strategy.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Deliver approved, accurate, and scientifically balanced medical information on Client's vaccines to healthcare professionals (HCPs) and vaccine decision makers at the local, regional, and national levels, including Medical Groups, Integrated Delivery Networks, Payers, Accountable Care Organizations, Retail Pharmacy, Long Term Care, Professional Societies, and Government Organizations, in accordance with approved field medical guidance.
- Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries from HCPs in a timely, compliant manner, ensuring all communications adhere to Client's policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Provide internal scientific and product expertise to support Medical Affairs and clinical development activities, including NITAG presentations, field force training, organized customer collaborations, and participation in scientific congresses.
- Deliver scientific presentations to payers, managed care organizations, formulary decision makers, professional societies, government bodies, and regional medical advisory boards, aligned with the medical strategy defined by the Americas Medical Affairs team.
- Facilitate effective communication between external stakeholders and headquarters Medical Affairs colleagues, capturing and communicating customer insights to inform medical and product strategy.
- Support Client's sponsored clinical trials, collaborative research initiatives, and investigator-initiated research (IIR) activities in accordance with Client's SOPs, including investigator engagement and inquiry management.
- Develop and implement the local medical affairs strategy for the assigned portfolio, including pipeline assets, in alignment with therapeutic area and organizational priorities.
- Assess medical and commercial landscape trends to identify opportunities that inform strategic planning and evidence generation.
- Lead therapeutic area processes for the evaluation and oversight of investigator-led studies and external research collaborations. Lead the design and execution of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and/or real-world evidence (RWE) initiatives.
- Develop and execute the local publication plan in alignment with global and local medical priorities.
- Lead the planning, organization, and execution of national advisory boards.
- Serve as a scientific advisor to marketing, market access, pricing, and HEOR, commercial, and research teams, providing medical input into clinical research initiatives and promotional and educational materials in compliance with regulations.
- Prepare and deliver scientific materials and updates for National Immunization Technical Advisory Groups (NITAGs) and other relevant stakeholders.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support Medical Affairs objectives.
Travel Requirements:
- Flexibility to travel 40-60% of time (domestic, regionally, and globally)
- 90% within Canada
- Occasional U.S.

- Demonstrated clinical and technical expertise relevant to the therapeutic area.
- Ability to rapidly adopt and effectively utilize digital technologies and tools to engage medical customers and accurately document medical interactions.
- Strong understanding of, and adherence to, internal and external SOPs, policies, and regulations governing Client's interactions with customers and external stakeholders.
- Ability to operate Client's company vehicle and travel frequently by air to attend customer meetings, scientific congresses, and internal meetings; proximity to a major airline hub is required.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Minimum educational level necessary to perform the job (High School diploma, Associate's Degree, Bachelor’s Degree, Master's, PhD).
- Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD) with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in infectious diseases, epidemiology, vaccines, and public health is highly desirable.
