Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I (MLT I) to join a small 30-bed hospital laboratory in Clanton, AL. This is a generalist role supporting the Core Laboratory with responsibilities across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Blood Bank. The ideal candidate will have strong Blood Bank experience and enjoy working in a collaborative hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, and Blood Bank.
• Conduct specimen processing, analysis, and result reporting according to laboratory procedures.
• Perform blood bank testing, including compatibility testing and related procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and quality control records.
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Follow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and laboratory quality assurance standards.
• Ensure accurate specimen identification and timely reporting of results.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and laboratory staff to support patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement and laboratory safety initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent qualification meeting CLIA requirements.
• Current ASCP or AMT certification (required).
• Generalist laboratory experience.
• Blood Bank experience is required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.
