The MHE Equipment Installation team is responsible for building the infrastructure that makes it all possible — installing, assembling, and commissioning the conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and robotics platforms that power our fulfillment network. Once installation is complete and the site goes live, high-performing Installation Technicians may have the opportunity to transition into Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) roles to maintain the equipment they built. About the Role
As an Installation Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will use your mechanical and electrical skills to install, assemble, and commission Material Handling Equipment (MHE) in new and expanding fulfillment centers. You will work alongside OEM partners and internal teams to ensure equipment is installed safely, to specification, and on schedule. This role offers a potential career pathway: after site go-live, top-performing technicians who demonstrate strong safety, quality, and teamwork will be eligible to interview for permanent Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (MRT) roles within RME. Transitioning to RME is not guaranteed and is contingent upon performance and successful completion of the interview process.

This pathway is not guaranteed and is subject to business needs and individual performance.

Key Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures and maintaining compliance with OSHA and safety standards
- Install and assemble conveyor systems, sortation equipment, robotic platforms, and associated mechanical/electrical components per engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform mechanical assembly including bolt torquing, belt tensioning, bearing installation, shaft alignment, and structural steel assembly
- Install and terminate electrical components including motors, photo-eyes, relays, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and installation work packages
- Conduct quality inspections on completed installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and OEM standards
- Participate in equipment commissioning, functional testing, and system integration activities
- Document installation progress, maintain quality records, and close out installation work packages
- Coordinate with OEM vendors, general contractors, and project teams to maintain installation schedule
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all project stakeholders
- Track and manage installation tools, materials, and inventory
- Move up to 49lbs as well as stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation

This pathway is not guaranteed and is subject to business needs and individual performance.
Shift Information
Shift schedules and hours will be determined based on project needs and installation phase requirements. Candidates should expect:
- A full-time schedule that may include overtime depending on project milestones
- Flexibility to work weekends or adjusted hours as dictated by the construction and installation schedule
- Shift assignments communicated prior to start and subject to change based on project demands
Basic Qualifications
- High school or equivalent diploma
- 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, overtime, and travel to project sites as needed
- 2+ years of mechanical or electrical installation or maintenance experience (MHE, conveyor systems, industrial equipment, or construction trades)
- 2+ years of reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings experience
- 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards in a construction or industrial environment
- 1+ years of experience with hand tools, power tools, and rigging/lifting equipment
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in an active construction environment
- Associates or higher degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- 2+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
- Experience installing conveyor systems, sortation equipment, or automated material handling systems
- Experience with electrical termination, conduit installation, and cable pulling
- Familiarity with commissioning and functional testing of automated equipment
- Experience reading and working from installation work packages or method statements
- OSHA 10 certification
- Forklift, aerial lift (scissor lift, boom lift) certification or experience
- Experience working on MHE systems or similar large-scale distribution/fulfillment equipment
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based controls systems
- Interest in pursuing a long-term career in RME maintenance
