Location: Hybrid and need to visit these locations, once or twice in a week (Ohio Cleveland, Columbus - CLE2, CLE3, CMH1), Georgia (Atlanta, Savannah - ATL2, SAV4), Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Allentown - SPA1, SPA3), Illinois (Chicago - ORD5, IGQ1, SIL3), Florida (Tallahassee, Jacksonville - TLH1, SJA1), Maryland (Baltimore - DCA1), California (Modesto - SCA9, FAT1)

Job Description:
  • We're looking for a Field Service Engineer to deep-dive daily system-level investigations for the Prime Air Drone system at our commercial operations sites, driving improved reliability within our ultra-fast drone delivery operations.
  • This role will be responsible for troubleshooting drone issues observed within operations and rapidly finding solutions to safely return the drone to service.
  • Additionally, this role will be responsible for supporting new drone delivery sites by provisioning site equipment, programing check flights and verifying nominal performance before commercial operations start. 
  • This role sustains the larger organization by ensuring a high degree of technical reliability within drone operations, working closely with design engineering/service engineering staff and powering a flywheel of continuous improvement in the drone system design.
  • Partnering with the drone system operations and various engineering disciplines, you will provide engineering analyses and solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
  • The successful candidate will leverage data-driven insights to identify opportunities and lead implementation of system improvements.
  • This role is a core member of the Prime Air Product Support Organization (PSO) Engineering team, serving as the first line between operator/maintainer experiences and design engineering improvements or mitigations.
  • Strong cross-functional engineering fundamentals (mechanical, electrical, software development basics) skills are essential, as well as strong technical communication and documentation skills.
  • Your ability to translate complex system functions into digestible insights and summarize effectively with stakeholders at all levels will be critical to success in this role.
  • Maintenance alerts technical troubleshooting, exp in technical troubleshooting, think through issues.
 
Must Have’s:
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Experience scripting in modern program languages (Python)
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
  • Aviation or Aerospace experience
  • Experience with drone systems
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience working with operations teams to resolve urgent issues
  • Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools
BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent is important if they don’t have experience
