Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to perform a variety of assembly, testing, wiring, soldering, and repair activities involving mechanical components, subassemblies, sheet-metal enclosures, chassis, drawers, racks, and related assemblies.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics and will have hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, soldering, wire harnessing, cabling, and electronic/mechanical testing. This role requires good judgment, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly-related issues.
Key Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical components, subassemblies, chassis, drawers, enclosures, racks, and sheet-metal assemblies according to established drawings and specifications.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and related technical documentation.
• Perform hand soldering, wire harnessing, cable assembly, and wire wrapping as required.
• Ensure proper component polarity and orientation during assembly.
• Perform routine Go/No-Go testing of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
• Set up and operate test equipment using hand tools and automated test methods.
• Document test results and maintain accurate logs and records of malfunctions or defects.
• Identify assembly and testing issues, troubleshoot problems, and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Perform repair and rework activities as necessary.
• Follow established methods and sequences of operation while exercising sound judgment when resolving complex issues.
• Use hand tools, testing equipment, and other production equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-compliant work environment.
• Follow applicable quality standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of mechanical/electronic assembly or production experience.
• Vocational or technical training in mechanical assembly is preferred.
• Experience working from established drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Basic understanding of component polarity and proper component orientation.
• Experience with soldering, wire wrapping, wire harnessing, and cable assembly.
• Ability to use hand tools and electronic/mechanical testing equipment.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Work Schedule & Location
Work Location: 5525 Morehouse Drive, San Diego, CA 92121
Building: M
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM PST
Work Days: Monday – Friday
Schedule: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week

• Forklift Certification: Not required.
• Driving Responsibilities: None.
• Interview Process: 1 round; a second interview may be conducted if needed.
