Job Title: Manufacturing Technician 1
Location: Godwin Drive Manassas,VA 20110
Duration:1-year Assignment (Possibility of extension)
Shift: A Shift: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
C Shift: Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Primary Responsibilities — Safety, Quality & Security
- FOUP handling: Respond to FOUP dials and transport FOUPs to and from the FAB.
- Staging: Stage FOUPs near designated passthru locations based on operating priorities.
- Preparation: Unbox and unwrap new FOUPs in accordance with area expectations.
- Production starts: Unwrap production FOSBs and transfer production material to FOUPs.
- Organization: Maintain clean, orderly work areas and organize work based on customer and production needs.
- Communication: Provide clear shift pass down, participate in area meetings, and promptly escalate issues or hazards.
- Handle FOUPs, FOSBs, and production material safely and appropriately.
- Follow applicable sites, FAB, EHSS, security, contamination-control, and area procedures.
- Complete required training before independently performing assigned work.
- Identify and communicate potential hazards, damaged material, or abnormal conditions immediately.
- Use due diligence when handling packages and materials and follow security protocols.
- Perform assigned tasks with moderate to limited supervision after qualification.
- Manage multiple priorities and adjust to changing production needs and schedules.
- Demonstrate reliability, sound judgment, integrity, teamwork, and strong customer service.
- Use approved systems or basic computer applications needed to receive, document, track, and complete work.
- Support continuous improvement by raising practical ideas that improve safety, quality, or efficiency.
- Escalate constraints, delays, errors, and incomplete work to Product Control leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- Warehouse, material-handling, manufacturing, or similar operational experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn required site applications.
- Ability to follow written procedures, verbal direction, and shift priorities.
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide professional customer support.
- Flexibility to support changing schedules and operational needs.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds and perform the physical duties of the assignment.
Scope & Boundary
- Contractors focus on defined manual and repeatable work.
- PC technicians retain higher-skill activities, including ticket resolution, TW requests and disposition, held-lot decisions, NPI tasks, reclaim, and engineering requests.
- Contractors must not independently make technical dispositions, process decisions, or other decisions outside their training and assigned authority
- This manufacturing technician role is focused on material handling and supporting manufacturing operations in a clean room environment. The position primarily involves manually handling and transporting high-value memory products ("wipers") that are stored in boxes of 25. Responsibilities include retrieving materials from storage areas, moving them safely to pass-through locations within the fab, and following established processes with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, safety, and proper material handling procedures.
- The role also includes loading lots into manual process tools after training. Once materials are placed into the tools, the equipment completes the remaining process steps automatically. The majority of the work is manual and operational in nature, requiring employees to be comfortable working in a manufacturing setting and handling expensive materials with care.
- Key qualifications include experience with material handling, the ability to operate pallet jacks and move stacked hoops, a strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures in a clean room environment. Previous manufacturing, warehouse, semiconductor, production, or logistics experience would be transferable to this role.
- Training is expected to take no more than two weeks due to the straightforward nature of the job. The position supports a growing production line and is being considered for contractor staffing. Interviews will be conducted in person and consist of a single interview round.
