Key Responsibilities
Mainframe Production Support
- Monitor zOS system health, performance, and batch processing activities
- Handle production incidents, service requests, and critical severity issues
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes
- Provide ongoing support for enterprise mainframe environments
- Support JCL execution, batch job monitoring, and ABEND troubleshooting
- Work with scheduling tools such as Control-M, CA-7, OPC/TWS
- Ensure successful batch processing and timely issue resolution
- Support and maintain CICS, DB2, MQ, VSAM, datasets, and related subsystems
- Coordinate with application teams for deployments, fixes, and environment support
- Troubleshoot data transfer and FTP/SFTP-related issues
- Follow ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management
- Participate in CAB meetings and production release activities
- Maintain compliance with operational and audit standards
- Conduct daily and weekly health checks for zOS, CICS, DB2, and storage systems
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize job execution
- Monitor system availability and operational stability
