Job: Title: Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Location: Archdale, NC
Shift: 1st Shift (Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Overtime: Possible overtime on Fridays
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour


Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The primary responsibility of this role is operating a Waterjet machine, along with supporting various metal fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have fabrication experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe work environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Waterjet machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Obtain materials and components based on Bills of Materials (BOM) and drawings.
  • Create and modify 2D drawings using Waterjet software.
  • Assemble and fabricate products using the correct materials, tools, and specifications.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment including presses, saws, sanders, and other shop machinery.
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines as needed.
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections using measuring instruments.
  • Audit completed work in accordance with quality standards and work instructions.
  • Maintain production efficiency while ensuring quality requirements are met.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience.
  • Experience operating Waterjet machines or similar fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to use hand, electric, and pneumatic tools safely.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Basic math and geometry skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills and sense of urgency.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to wear required company uniforms and PPE.
  • Good attendance and reliable work history.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience writing, reading, and editing CNC programs.
  • CNC machine operating experience.
  • Experience operating CNC laser cutting machines.
  • Salvagnini laser experience.
  • Experience with the following equipment:
    • Waterjet
    • Milling Machine (Bridgeport)
    • Band Saw and Horizontal Saw
    • Brake Press
    • Drill Press

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted and heavier items with assistance.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
