Role: Project Manager II (PM II)
Location: Edmonton, AB
Duration: 12 Months
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

Primary Focus

Primary accountability is to manage complex IT and Operational Technology (OT) projects valued up to $5MM, primarily enhancing Leak Detection, Control, and SCADA systems. This role partners with key stakeholders to develop technical solutions and ensures best-practice change management when systems are modified, deployed, or integrated. The role requires a strong understanding of OT applications and infrastructure, including associated cybersecurity, with a specialty focus in the leak detection domain.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Perform full-time project management for multiple projects valued up to $2MM.
  • Proactively manage all PMBOK knowledge areas and process groups to maximize stakeholder value while minimizing cost and optimizing schedules.
  • Execute projects in accordance with established corporate standards.
  • Ensure all PMO processes are followed and required PMO documentation is produced.
  • Provide clear, well-defined project mandates, supported by documentation, scheduling, budgeting, and ongoing project analysis, as required.
  • Develop and implement change management processes, procedures, and tools to support seamless deployment and prevent disruption to critical systems.
  • Apply project and organizational knowledge, leadership, and active facilitation to enable effective execution of project activities.
  • Continuously evaluate internal processes to support efficient, priority-based project execution; identify and propose process improvements, as required.
  • Prepare status reports and deliver presentations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate timely resolution of project concerns or issues, escalating as appropriate.
  • Review and approve project deliverables.
  • Provide timely and accurate status reporting throughout the project lifecycle, as required.
  • Initiate, support, and develop strategies for continuous process improvement within the department.
  • Ensure project delivery efficiency by:
    • Working collaboratively with supervisors, managers, directors, other project managers, and stakeholders.
    • Conducting root-cause analysis on projects and project issues.
  • Support governance and enforcement of project processes and standards, including:
    • Schedules, reporting, and project financials.
    • QC, QA, and compliance standards.

Scope

  • Accountable for multiple projects valued up to $2MM, ranging in duration from several months to three years.
  • Establish and lead Operational Technology (OT) project teams.
  • Coordinate with Leak Detection subject matter experts (SMEs), supervisors, and managers to advance Leak Detection projects and decision record
