Job title: Electrical CAD Technician
Location: Vancouver, WA 98684
Duration: 6 months Assignment
Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, M to F
 
Summary:
  • The Electrical CAD Technician position will require strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills, as well as demonstrate the ability to function in a team environment.
  • Responsibilities include revising existing electrical drawings and preparing drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches. 
  • The Electrical CAD Technician will successfully plot drawings; learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; learns the practices of a selected discipline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply client standards for drafting activities.
  • Work with vector and raster drawing files primarily in AutoCAD and Microstation.
  • Maintain current knowledge of design and drafting procedures.
  • Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for engineering review.
  • Provide an accurate accounting of time spent on projects.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma and course work in drafting technology or specialized CAD certification.
  • Associate's degree in computer-aided drafting and design desirable.
  • Entry-level position (zero to two years of professional drafting experience).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Previous internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Mastered basic commands of Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley Microstation (ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, timesaving programs, and routines a plus).
  • Highly motivated and possess strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with clear expectations and timelines, and to prioritize work.
  • Ability to take direction from and work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
Additional Important Notes:
  • This position is onsite and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work, primarily an office working environment. 
  • Must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. 
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. 
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Requires the ability to understand, remember and follow written instructions and guidelines. 
  • The ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology. 
  • The ability to apply common sense in performing job, the ability to adapt, analyze, assess, calculate, make decisions, dependable, exercise good judgment, organize, prioritize, read, memorize, social skills, stress control and solve problems. 
  • The ability to count accurately.
