Job Title: Drone Operator
Location: Seattle, WA (On-Site)
Duration : 3 Months with Possible extension
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 Hours/Week 


Job Description:
The Drone Operator will join a Research & Development team focused on inventing and developing new transformative experiences. This role is responsible for safely operating unmanned aerial systems (UAS), executing test flights, collecting flight data, supporting field operations, and assisting engineering teams with research and development activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive remote pilot experience, strong technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in dynamic field environments. The position requires frequent travel and physical activity, including lifting equipment and working outdoors for extended periods.


Basic Qualifications

  • FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (Required).
  • Minimum 200 flight hours as Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC).
  • 2+ years of remote-control drone pilot experience.
  • Experience leading small teams.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to satisfy Amazon driver eligibility requirements.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and flight execution skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong computer hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience supporting Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Experience supporting macOS environments.
  • Basic Linux/UNIX (Red Hat preferred) knowledge.
  • Networking knowledge including Ethernet, TCP/IP, and Windows Server networking.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Microsoft MCSA/MCSE certification (preferred).
  • Apple ACMT/ACSP or Cisco CCNA certifications (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–6 years of relevant technical experience.


Physical / Environmental Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for 8–10 hours per day (with breaks).
  • Frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel up to 75% of the year.


Work Environment

  • Research & Development laboratory and field testing environments.
  • Frequent outdoor drone flight operations.
  • Work with engineering and technical teams.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to safety and operational procedures.
