Job Title: Data Marketplace Analyst
Location: Newark, NJ (5 Days Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
• Set the enterprise vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data Marketplace, including the capabilities, standards, and operating model required to scale adoption across business domains.
• Lead prioritization of data product onboarding into the marketplace, balancing business value, data readiness, risk, discoverability, access patterns, and user experience.
• Partner with data product owners, domain stewards, technology teams, governance peers, and executive stakeholders to define publishing standards, intake processes, lifecycle controls, and measurable adoption outcomes.
• Oversee the evaluation of data product candidates to ensure they meet marketplace readiness criteria, including metadata completeness, ownership, access guidance, quality expectations, business context, and stewardship accountability.
• Drive alignment between marketplace capabilities, cataloging practices, glossary standards, data mesh principles, semantic context, and broader enterprise data governance policies.
• Establish operating rhythms, OKRs, reporting, and communications that make progress visible and help leaders make informed prioritization decisions.
• Develop and mentor a high-performing team, creating clarity of ownership while coaching team members through complex, ambiguous, and cross-functional delivery challenges.
• Identify opportunities to apply automation, AI, metadata enrichment, workflow improvements, and platform innovation to improve marketplace scale, quality, and user experience.
• Represent the Data Marketplace with senior stakeholders, telling compelling stories that generate advocacy, adoption, and measurable business impact.
Skills & Expertise You Will Need
• Demonstrated success driving enterprise outcomes by creating clarity in complex and ambiguous environments.
• Strong emotional intelligence and organizational awareness with the ability to grow productive, trusting relationships with key stakeholders, coach others, challenge norms, and influence decisions without formal authority.
• Ability to consultatively assess business partner needs through active listening, absorbing information quickly, and integrating diverse ideas for the benefit of the organization.
• Strong executive presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to tailor communication style to audiences at all levels of the organization.
• Deep understanding of metadata management, data cataloging, data mesh, data product management, data marketplace operating models, stewardship, and governed data access.
• Proven ability to lead enterprise-scale initiatives, manage roadmaps, influence senior stakeholders, and deliver outcomes through cross-functional teams.
• Ability to apply emerging technologies and innovation to Data Management and Governance in the day-to-day, with a continuous learning mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in areas such as MIS, Data Management, Information Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with agile delivery approaches, particularly scrum and SAFe.
• Experience with data governance, metadata, catalog, marketplace, and stewardship platforms such as Informatica, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Atlan, Alation, or similar tools.
