Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Equities Affirmation & Confirmation Specialist to join our Operations team. This role is ideal for an individual with 1-2 years of experience in financial operations who is eager to develop their expertise in equity derivatives and risk management. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and timely affirmation of trade details, mitigating economic risks, and providing excellent support to our internal and external stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the mitigation of Economic Affirmation risk in Equities by ensuring trade details are affirmed within department guidelines.
  • Identify and assist in resolving key economic differences between the firm's and clients' trade bookings.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies raised by clients on trade confirmations in a timely manner.
  • Examine incoming counterparty documents and collaborate with counterparties to agree on confirmation templates.
  • Promptly highlight and escalate all discrepancies raised by clients to Trading and Sales to ensure accurate trade booking.
  • Follow up with clients on the execution of legal confirmations and electronic matching of trades.
  • Ensure risk is mitigated for trades categorized as critical and high priority, escalating outstanding issues to senior management as needed.
  • Assist in the resolution of any exceptions that may arise in a timely manner.
  • Proactively partner with internal groups, including Sales, Trading, and Compliance, to facilitate the execution of EQD confirmations.
  • Contribute to the implementation of small and incremental enhancements to existing workflows and processes.
  • Support client service efforts by assisting Sales and Trading desks with confirmation-related inquiries.
  • Maintain timeliness in accordance with market standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with reporting and presentations that articulate compliance metrics.
 
What You'll Bring:
  • 1-2 years of experience in financial operations, trade support, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of risk and controls required to support derivative transactions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to issue resolution.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and ensure controls are in place.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to gather and analyze quantitative data to support decision-making.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and with various stakeholders.
