CNC Machinist

Location: Archdale, NC
Pay Rate: $24.00/hour
Duration : 12 months 
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Overtime: Possible overtime on Fridays

Job Overview

The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to manufacture high-quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain materials and components according to Bills of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings.
• Set up and operate CNC machines for various production jobs.
• Write, read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs.
• Assemble and fabricate products according to blueprints and specifications.
• Read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documentation.
• Perform machine setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Handle materials and assist with additional production tasks as needed.
• Support production goals by assisting supervisors and team members with manufacturing activities.

Qualifications

Required

• Technical College diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and product specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
• Strong mathematical, reading, and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.

Preferred

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience operating:
  • HAAS CNC Vertical Mills
  • ACCURPRESS Press Brakes
  • Dual Spindle CNC Lathes
  • OMAX Waterjets
  • Bridgeport Milling Machines
  • Band, Horizontal, and SOCO Saws
• Experience with Salvagnini Laser systems.
• Ability to set up, program, edit, and operate CNC laser cutting machines.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs independently and heavier materials with assistance.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements and safely operate manufacturing equipment.
