Job Summary
The Geospatial Analyst – MAP / Citrix Engineer will design, optimize, administer, and support secure virtual desktop environments using PowerShell, VMware Horizon, and Citrix Cloud for a global enterprise customer base.
The role focuses on reliable delivery of map-oriented, data-intensive, and graphics-intensive applications, performance tuning, incident resolution, automation, security, and operational excellence. The position follows a day-shift, onsite work model in Columbus, OH.
Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain scalable VDI environments supporting geospatial applications and tools.

Administer VMware Horizon environments and optimize desktop sessions and resource utilization.

Configure and manage Citrix Cloud deployments for enterprise application delivery.

Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts for VDI provisioning, profile management, capacity checks, monitoring, and maintenance.

Monitor VDI performance and proactively identify service degradation.

Troubleshoot complex VMware Horizon and Citrix incidents and perform root-cause analysis.

Implement access controls, patching, hardening, and security procedures for VDI environments.

Create and maintain architecture documentation, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and automation documentation.

Translate business requirements for mapping/spatial applications into VDI capacity and configuration plans.

Perform regression validation and impact assessments for VDI upgrades and configuration changes.
-
Provide day-shift operational support for incidents, service requests, and changes.

Analyze recurring incidents and recommend improvements to reduce future disruptions.

Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior technical staff.
Candidate Qualifications
-
8–10 years of experience in VDI, Citrix, VMware Horizon, systems engineering, or related technologies.

Strong hands-on experience designing and administering VMware Horizon VDI environments.
-
Advanced experience with Citrix Cloud, including application delivery, profiles, and policy management.

Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
-
Solid understanding of Windows-based virtual desktop operating systems and Group Policy.
-
Experience with user profile solutions and VDI lifecycle management.
-
Strong incident management, problem management, troubleshooting, and change-management experience.
-
Experience supporting data-intensive or graphics-intensive applications.
-
Knowledge of VDI performance tuning, resource sizing, image optimization, and connection latency mitigation.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Understanding of VDI security, access control, patching, and compliance practices.
