Job Title: Lab Technician
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Flexible)
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Eagan, MN 55121 (Onsite)

 
Position Summary
The Lab Technician performs laboratory testing under direct supervision while supporting the productivity and organization of a busy research laboratory. The role involves executing routine laboratory procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, assisting with data analysis, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and collaborating with team members to support research activities.
 
Education/Experience Requirement:
Associate’s Degree (applied science or similar)    

Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree (chemistry, biology, or similar)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory tests under direct supervision while controlling variable conditions and observing unusual events or deviations from prescribed test conditions.
  • Measure, record, and document laboratory test results accurately in laboratory notebooks.
  • Assist higher-level technical personnel in analyzing and interpreting experimental data and making preliminary evaluations of results.
  • Support the productivity and organization of a busy research laboratory.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in scientific discussions and apply critical thinking during laboratory activities.
  • Assemble laboratory test materials and equipment to support testing procedures.
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
 
Required Skills
  1. Knowledge of laboratory practices, scientific terminology, and the characterization and preparation of materials used in routine and special procedures.
  2. Must be able to establish and meet deadlines to produce independent results, while building a network of resources in the company.
  3. Must work well with other team members, including associates from shared service.
  4. Must have the ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously.

Education/Experience Requirement: 
  • Associate’s Degree (applied science or similar)

Interaction level with Mgmt/Team members:
  • Associate often work independently but will interact with multiple team members on a daily basis to share results and receive guidance.
Technology Requirements:     
  • Familiarity with MS Office and statistical software preferred
Interview Process:     
  • Panel interview, over MS Teams
Number of Interviews & Duration of Interview:        
  • (1)– 1 hour interview
