Title: CAN - Accountant III
Duration: 6 months (Extension/Conversion possible)
Work Schedule: Mon- Fri, 8:30- 5:00
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Summary:
- The main function of an accountant is to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within an organization.
- A typical accountant is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
- Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
- Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.
- Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel and direct their work activities.
Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Process mutual fund trades and settlements.
- Investigate and resolve transaction breaks and discrepancies.
- Handle FundSERV transactions and money movements.
- Use Excel macros to support operational processes.
- Provide customer service and respond to inquiries.
- Maintain compliance with operational and regulatory procedures.
Must-Have Hard Skills:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, pivots, macros)
- Banking/Financial experience
- Tech-savvy- ability to pick up internal systems quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
