Title: Business Continuity Coordinator
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)
Working hours: M-F, 9 AM – 5 PM
Schedule: Hybrid (1 day in office weekly) – Sometimes commute will be required.
OT requirements: Occasionally
Working Location: Toronto, ON
 
Role Mandate:
  • This team’s role is to aid and strengthen the risk and control environment within the Capital Markets, Technology & Operations (CM T&O) group.
  • There are various mandates, including Issue and Audit Management.
  • This role will focus on Business Continuity Planning and Management.
  • The successful candidate will act as the CM T&O Business Continuity Coordinator and will be responsible for ensuring that the BCPs accurately reflect the current state of the business, all the while adhering to the enterprise standards and required testing. 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Disaster Recovery (DR) testing plans to ensure recovery strategies are working properly – weekend work
  • Notification testing to ensure individuals are available on specific devices
  • BCP Walk-through testing
  • Alternate work area testing (contingency sites of process in BCP)
  • Audit support when a managed team is going through an internal or external audit (typically providing required documentation regarding the BCP controls/requirements)
  • Quality assurance (QA) reviews to ensure plans are adhering to the enterprise standards.
Must Have Skills:
  • Business continuity experience and understanding of key risk concepts
  • Business acumen (ability to see the greater picture and understand strategic plan)
  • Time management (ability to triage and focus on timely requirements)
  • Ability to multitask (managing multiple deliverable dates)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) 
Nice to Have Skills:
  • BMO or other bank/FI experience
  • Post-secondary completion reflecting business acumen (such as accounting, economics, business admin)
