Job Title: Accommodation Specialist
Location: Fully Remote
Duration: 3.5 months Assignment
Shift/Hours: 40hours/week, M to F, 9am to 3pm
 
Summary:
  • This position serves as the first point of contact for employees requesting a job accommodation in support of a qualifying disability that might be limiting their ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Helps employees regarding accommodation requests of simple to moderately complex scope.
  • Assesses and helps triage the requests and provide guidance to employees while ensuring a frustration-free experience.
  • The individual in this role will have exceptional communication and organizational skills.
  • Superior attention to detail, ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, along with the customer service focus that employees expect at The Client.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: (List essential functions of the job and approx. percentage of time spent on each activity; describe what must be accomplished, not how it must be done)
  • 40% Under general supervision, responds to new requests for accommodation and customer service needs within required time frames.
  • Generates and provides "Request for Accommodation" application forms and required notices for basic and moderately complex cases.
  • Helps to assess an employee’s return-to-work feasibility to better help our customers understand if an employee has any return-to-work potential.
  • In collaboration with the team, assesses employees for return-to-work potential which includes an overview of the accommodation process, roles and responsibilities and timelines associated with the process.
  • Assesses preliminary information to determine the potential existence of a qualifying disability and confer with core Disability Management Resources Staff should questions arise.
  • 35% Participate in an interdisciplinary team approach to help our customers when they face the determination of employee separation or leave as an accommodation.
  • Following stablished guidelines, provides customers with a prognosis for RTW and makes accommodation suggestions.
  • Creates and maintains accurate, timely, and compliant case records in client case management system.
  • Tracks all accommodation requests.
  • 15% Collaborates with medical, return to work, legal and absence management personnel as needed.
  • Escalates moderate and complex issues and cases.
  • Has proficient understanding of use of all applicable company Information systems.
  • 10% Other duties as assigned.
Must Haves:
  • Need to have at least 1 year of ADA experience. 
  • Need 3+ years of experience and can hit the ground running.
  • Outlook, Microsoft Suite, Teams experience.
  • Professional and strong polished communication.
  • Attention and quality to detail.
  • Critical thinking, good judgement and independent thinker.
